5 ways to get a more polished blowout

Bring drying, ceramic smoothing, and brush-guided shaping together for a blowout that looks finished and still has movement.

Smooth lengths. Lift at the roots.

Use the right mode and the right direction for the finish you want.

Smooth the puff. Bring out the shine.

  • ✓Ceramic smoothing for a more polished finish
  • ✓Bristles guide each section through the pass
  • ✓Gloss Lock helps reduce frizz*
  • ✓Smooth and shape through the same pass

*Shine and frizz compared with air-drying.

Keep your blowout going between washes

  • ✓Wet Mode for damp, detangled hair
  • ✓Dry Mode for a next-day refresh
  • ✓Smooth and reshape already-dry lengths
  • ✓Choose the mode for where your routine starts

Wet and Dry modes serve different starting conditions.

Drying and finishing, working together

  • ✓Heated ceramic smooths as you pass
  • ✓Boar and nylon bristles grip and guide
  • ✓A tapered shape helps reach the roots

Lead with ceramic, rotate to grip, then guide through.

A smoother pass starts at the roots

  • ✓Begin with the ceramic plates leading
  • ✓Rotate until the bristles grip the section
  • ✓Guide the hair through the plates
  • ✓Use Dry Mode to refine already-dry hair

Plate orientation is part of the smoothing technique.

Lift your roots. Shape your blowout.

  • ✓Start with damp, detangled hair
  • ✓Choose Wet Mode for volume styling
  • ✓Brush up and away from the roots
  • ✓Repeat until the section is fully dry

Root lift and smoothness need their own technique.

Heat and mode guide

Choose the mode.
Control the heat.

Glossi continuously regulates heat and, according to Shark, measures it 1,000 times per second. Wet and Dry modes support different starting conditions.

Shark’s no-heat-damage claim applies to wet-to-dry mode. Choose the correct mode and follow the product instructions for your hair and routine.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between Wet and Dry modes?+

Wet Mode is for drying and styling damp, detangled hair. Dry Mode is for smoothing and reshaping hair that is already dry, including a between-wash refresh.

How should I prepare my hair for Wet Mode?+

Start with damp, detangled hair. For volume, brush up and away and repeat until completely dry. Use the supplied Glossi instructions rather than borrowing moisture advice from another styling tool.

Which side of the brush should lead the pass?+

Lead with the ceramic plates at the roots. Turn the tool so the bristles grip the section, then guide it through the plates. That orientation is part of the smoothing technique.

How do I build volume without only flattening my hair?+

Use Wet Mode on damp, detangled hair and brush up and away from the roots. Work on root lift separately from smoothing the lengths; the finish depends on your hair and technique.

What does the no-heat-damage claim apply to?+

Shark’s claim applies to wet-to-dry mode. Glossi uses heated ceramic, so choose the correct mode and follow the product instructions for preparation, settings, and your styling routine.

Will it suit my hair length and texture?+

Shark positions Glossi for different hair textures, but length, density, condition, and your desired finish affect fit. The fixed brush size matters for short sections; high-density hair may need more sectioning and time.

Can it make defined curls?+

Glossi is a guided blowout brush for smoothing, volume, and shaped ends. It is not an automatic curling system. If defined curls are your main goal, compare a tool designed for that job.

Will I still need a flat iron?+

That depends on your hair and how straight you want the finish. Some users like the blowout result alone; others still use an iron for extra sleekness. Glossi is not a guaranteed replacement for every styling tool.

How big and heavy is Glossi?+

Shark lists the US HT302 at 1.63 lb and 3.2 × 3.2 × 13.05 inches. Consider the tool and fixed brush size if you have very short hair, want to travel with it, or prefer a compact styler.

How do I care for the filter?+

The supplied Glossi controls guide advises cleaning the filter regularly with a dry cloth or clean toothbrush. Follow the instructions supplied with your unit for care and troubleshooting.

A must needed heat tool!!

JaneManoj Verified reviewer

[I received this product in exchange for my honest review] I cannot begin to say how much I love this product!! For context, I’ve been using a heated dryer brush for many years now before I got the Shark Glossi. Ididn’t think it could get any better than what I already had. How wrong I was!

One of the biggest problems that I’ve noticed before was the fact that I had so much hair breakage and damage, but that all changed once I started using this product. this product is much more easy to control and manage based on the needs of your hair. I have curly hair so blow drying my hair has always been a very hard task and one that I don’t always like to do because of how time-consuming and how much effort it takes. This product has fully changed that for me! I’m able to finish my hair within half an hour tops and have perfectly blow dried hair! I’ve noticed much less heat damage on my hair, but did not have to sacrifice any type of style! I cannot recommend this product! Definitely worth the purchase if you’re in the market for a great heat tool that won’t damage your hair!

Wow!

mrstiawalters Verified reviewer

When my last Hot Tools broke I bought one from Dry Bar. Returned it, did more research and bought this one. I AM SO GLAD I DID! I love the wet vs dry functions. I have thick curly hair and this worked fast and efficient. My hair is smoother and looks great. Highly recommend!

WOW! Life Changing!

Harleypup Verified reviewer

WOW! Life Changing! Took 10 mins to dry and style my hair today! I did a quick towel dry and went to town. Wet setting then switched to dry. OMG it looks incredible. I am so happy. This thing is bulky, the cord is annoying and it is a heavy tool but whatever. I will deal with that for the results. Thanks!
